LENGTH OF PROCEDURE

1-1 ½ hours

RECUPERATION AND HEALING

Initial discomfort is controlled with oral medications prescribed by the physician.

These are taken after surgery for 10 days. It is very important that you take all of this medicine.

Minimal swelling and bruising. However, swelling is more likely the larger the implant. This will disappear in time. Be patient.

The initial dressings on the incisions are covered by 4-inch Ace wraps. A script is given to the patient prior to surgery for support stockings, which will be worn after Dr. Hainer checks the incisions. These stockings will be worn for about 4 weeks.

The sutures are all dissolvable.

1-2 weeks.

May be resumed 6 weeks after surgery.

If your scars are exposed while outdoors or using a tanning bed, you should protect them with sunscreen SPF 15 or higher for at least one year to prevent permanent discoloration.
